Coton Sport Garoua players have held their final training ahead of their big match against Algeria’s Kabylie in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Coton team goes into the game, knowing that only a big win against the Algerian team will ensure their place in the final of the CAF confederation cup.
The team from Cameroon, goes into the Sunday game, having lost 2-1 to their opponents on ground teff in Yaounde.
Coton sports took the lead through Lambert Gueme in the 28th minute. However, Kabilye came level through a strike from Ahmed Kerroum at halftime.
Later in the game, Pierre Etame scored an own goal to give the Algerian team the victory.
“I think we have done a very good course to reach this level, now it’s up to us to move forward, that is to win the semi-final to play the final,” said Felix Oukine, captain of Coton Sport De Garoua.
“We will do everything to qualify for the final”.
The team will be fervently relying on the power of their striker, Lambert Araine, who nicely dispatched their only goal into their opponent’s net in the first leg.
This year, Coton Sport remains the only Central African club in the CAF confideration cup.
“We are ready physically and technically. As for me, I tried to work on my side, when the coach releases us I go home and I work individually twice a day. It is this work that allowed me to be the best scorer of the club and the championship,” said Lambert Araina.
On the other hand, a draw will see Kabylie through to the finals of the CAF Confederation Cup, they will face-off with any of their north-African brothers – Raja Casablanca or Pyramid FC from Morocco and Egypt respectively.
